What do This page, This site and Other notes mean?

How the sidebar sorts your notes.

Works in: the Humble browser extension

Short answer

In the sidebar’s Notes tab, This page shows notes linked to the exact page you’re on. This site shows notes linked to other pages on the same website. Other notes shows your latest 20 notes from anywhere.

What you see

The three groups in the Notes tab. Empty groups are hidden.

How it decides

  • Only notes with a link count for This page or This site. Words in the note don’t.
  • On LinkedIn, each person or company profile counts as its own site.
  • On ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and similar tools, each chat counts as its own site.
  • The Humble icon turns green when This page or This site has notes.
