How to use many AI chats without losing track
AI helps you start more work. Your attention does not grow with it. Keep each chat with the work it is for, so you can always get back in.
In short
- More AI chats means more for your head to hold.
- Give each piece of work one task. Link its chats to that task.
- Open the task, and every chat is there.
Or read the full guide: about 8 minutes.
AI lets you take on more
Why do I feel more scattered since I started using AI?
AI makes each job faster. So you start more of them, each in its own chat.

Draft v2
Your attention does not grow with your work. When you hold too much, something drops. Often it is the context: why you started, what you decided and where you stopped.
This can be harder if you have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Keeping track of many things at once already takes a lot of energy.
Why AI chats get lost
Why can’t I find the chat I need?
- Each app keeps its own listClaude does not know about your ChatGPT chats.
- Chat titles are vague“Help with a plan” could be any of ten chats.
- Lists go by date, not by workThe chat you need is under ten newer ones.
- Search finds words, not workYou have to remember what you typed.
So you start a new chat and explain it all again. Or the work stops.
Keep each chat with the work it is for
What is the fix?
Give each piece of work one task in Humble. Then link every chat about that work to the task, in any AI app.
The task becomes your way back in. It holds the chats, notes, people and pages for that work, in one place.
How to link a chat
- New task. Open the chat, then select the Humble icon in your browser. Select Tasks, then + New. Type the task and select Save. The task is linked to that chat.
- Task you already have. In the Humble sidebar’s Tasks tab, point at the task and select its link button. Or open the task and select Add this page.
Humble saves a link to the chat, not the chat itself. The chat stays in your AI app.

- Open the task. Every linked chat is under Related items. Select one, and it opens where you stopped.
- Look for the green icon. On a linked chat, the Humble icon turns green. So you know the chat belongs to your work.
Humble does not hold the work for you. It shows you the way back in.
Let your AI app read the task too
Can my AI app pick up the work for me?
You can go one step further. Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini to Humble with the Humble AI connector. Then your AI app can read your tasks and notes too.
It reads the task and your notes about it. You do not explain the work again.

Good to know
- Start with one piece of work. Add the rest as you go.
- Linking does not share the chat. The chat stays in your AI app. Humble keeps only the link.
- Which AI apps. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot in your browser, and AI tools such as Google AI Studio, v0, Replit, Lovable and Bolt.

No. Linking chats only needs the browser extension. The Humble AI connector is an extra: it lets your AI app read your tasks and notes.
Yes. Link it to a contact in the same way. Open the contact later and the chat is there.
