Can I add subtasks to a task?

Link smaller tasks to a bigger one.

Short answer

Not as a checklist inside a task. Instead, make each step its own task and link it to the main one: open the main task, select Related, then Add link, and pick the smaller task. They show under Tasks in Related items.

Good to know

  • Links go one way. The smaller task doesn’t show a link back.
  • Finishing the main task doesn’t finish the smaller ones.
  • Typing [ ] in a description shows the brackets. It doesn’t make a checkbox.
