Use case
Research every new pitch before you read it
Your pitch form posts each new company into Slack. Every morning, Claude reads them, researches each company and gives it a grade. It saves one note per company in Humble, linked to the founder and their website.

The problem: New pitches arrive faster than I can read them.
The problem
What gets in the way
- Too many to readPitches arrive every day. Most wait days before anyone looks.
- The same research each timeFor each one, you look up the team, the market and the competitors by hand.
- Notes end up everywhereWhat you found sits in a chat, a sheet or your head. Next time, you start again.
How it works
Set it up once. It runs every morning.
-
Step 1: New pitches arrive in
Slack
Your pitch form posts each new company into a Slack channel, such as #deal-flow.
-
Step 2: Make a scheduled task in
Claude
Paste the prompt below into a scheduled task. Add your focus, so Claude can grade each company. Set it to run every day.
-
Step 3:
Claude researches and grades each one
Each morning, Claude reads the new posts and looks up each company. It gives each one a grade: Green, Amber or Red.
-
Step 4: Open your folder in Humble
Each company has a note in Inbound deals, with its grade at the top. It is linked to the founder and the company website.
What you get
- No pitch waits. Each one is read and researched the morning after it arrives.
- Everything is filed. One note per company, in one folder, so you can sort the pile in minutes.
- It is linked. Open the founder in Humble, or the company website with the browser extension, and the research is there.
Set it up
Set up your deal flow research in about 15 minutes
What you need
- A pitch form that posts each new pitch into a Slack channel. Most form tools can do this
- A Humble account, connected to Claude. See how to connect it
- A folder in Humble called Inbound deals. Your AI app cannot make folders yet
- A paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise), for scheduled tasks
Copy the prompt
Read the new posts in the #deal-flow Slack channel from the last 24 hours. For each company in them: 1. Search my Humble notes for the company name. If there is a note already, skip that company. 2. Research the company on the web: what it does, who it sells to, the team, three competitors and any funding news. 3. Grade it against my focus: [write your focus here, such as UK pre-seed and seed, software for healthcare]. Use Green (a strong fit), Amber (maybe) or Red (not a fit), with one line on why. 4. Create one Humble note. Title: the company name, then "Inbound", then the date, like "Kelpline · Inbound · 4 Nov". Start the text with the grade. Then add a short summary, the competitors, three questions to ask the founder, and links to your sources. 5. Add the founder to my Humble contacts if they are not there. Link the note to the founder and to the company website. 6. Put the note in my Humble folder "Inbound deals". When you finish, list each company with its grade.
