Use case

Turn your inbox into tasks

Each weekday morning, Claude reads your new email. For each thing you need to do, it makes a task in Humble, files it in the right folder and links it to the email. It never sends, deletes or archives email.

The problem: My inbox is my to-do list, and it is a mess.

The problem

What gets in the way

  • The inbox is the to-do listWhat you need to do is spread across fifty emails.
  • Things sinkAn email you meant to act on is now three pages down.
  • Copying by handTurning emails into tasks one by one takes the first hour of the day.

How it works

Set it up once. It runs every weekday.

  1. Step 1: Connect Gmail and Humble

Connect Gmail and Humble to Claude. Ask: Can you see my Gmail and my Humble tasks?

Needs the Humble AI connector (MCP) (opens in a new tab)

  2. Step 2: Schedule the weekday prompt

Paste the prompt below into a scheduled task in Claude, and have it run every weekday at 07:40.

  3. Step 3: Your tasks are waiting

When you start work, each thing you need to do is a task in Humble, set to Now or Next, in the folder it belongs in.

  4. Step 4: One click to the email

Open a task. The email is linked under Related items, so you can reply in one click.

What you get

  • A to-do list, not an inbox. Each email that needs you becomes one clear task.
  • Filed in folders, so each task sits with its client or project.
  • The email is one click away from its task.
  • Nothing is sent for you. The prompt never sends, deletes or archives email.

What you need

  • A Humble account, connected to Claude. See how to connect it
  • Gmail connected to Claude
  • A few folders in Humble, such as one per client or project
  • A paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise), to run it on a schedule

Copy the prompt

Look at my Gmail inbox for email from the last 24 hours. Skip newsletters, receipts and automatic emails. For each email where I need to do something, first search my Humble tasks for it. If it is not there, create a Humble task: the action, starting with a verb. Set it to Now if it is for today and Next if it is for this week, with a due date if the email gives one. Put it in the folder that fits best, from my existing folders. Link the task to the email's web address. Do not send, delete or archive any email. When you finish, list the tasks you added.
